What is the highest temperature an air fryer can go?

Here's a practical breakdown of air fryer temperature limits based on real-world use:

1. Common Limits for Home Models
Maximum Temperature Marking: Most brands list a maximum temperature of 200°C-210°C (approximately 392°F-410°F), but the actual continuous operating temperature can be approximately 10°C lower.
Performance Degradation: Older or low-priced models (less than 500 yuan) may experience a maximum temperature drop below 190°C after prolonged use, affecting the crisping effect.

2. High-Temperature Use and Risks
Applications:
Rapidly charring the skin of steaks and pork chops
Re-crisping damp fried snacks (such as potato chips)
Risks of Use:
Surge in Oil Fume: Above 190°C, the oil will break down and smoke, increasing the risk of triggering the alarm.
Coating Damage: Continuous high temperatures can easily cause the non-stick coating on the fryer basket to peel.

3. Reasons Why Manufacturers Limit High Temperatures
Safety Precautions: At temperatures above 210°C, food residue may carbonize and ignite (especially in sauces with high sugar content). Component Lifespan: Prolonged extreme operation of the heating element will shorten its lifespan, and the fan motor may also overheat and be damaged.

4. Two special model exceptions
Commercial models: Large air fryers used in restaurants can reach temperatures of up to 230°C (446°F), but require dedicated circuitry.
Graphene Heating Models: High-end models utilize aerospace materials and can reach temperatures of up to 220°C (428°F), but are limited to short-term use.
