Here's a practical guide to air fryer cleaning frequency:
1. Must-do after every use (avoid stubborn stains)
Frying basket/frying pan cleaning:
Pour out any food residue → Rinse or soak with hot water → Thoroughly dry and return to its original position.
Consequence of neglecting this procedure: Grease will cool and harden, requiring laborious scrubbing after three cycles of accumulation.
Interior cleaning:
Turn off power and allow to cool to room temperature → Wipe away any oil specks on the interior with a damp cloth → Absorb any moisture with a dry cloth.
Key area: Oil guide groove under the heating element (where oil splatter is concentrated).
2. Weekly deep cleaning (to prevent odors/maintain performance)
Accessories cleaning:
Remove the basket oil filter and divider → Soak in hot water and baking soda for 10 minutes → Use a soft brush to remove any grime from the seams.
Heating element dust removal:
Gently sweep the heating element surface in one direction with a dry, soft brush (do not use wet brushing).
Seal degreasing:
Wipe the door seam/basket rubber ring with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol → Prevent aging and stickiness.
3. Monthly Maintenance (Safety and Hygiene Essential)
Ventilation System Cleaning:
Vacuum the intake and exhaust ports on low setting to prevent dust accumulation and reduced fan efficiency.
Circuit Area Inspection:
Wipe the power plug and connectors with a dry cloth to prevent oily or conductive contaminants.
Odor Elimination:
Sprinkle lemon juice and baking soda into the fryer and let it sit overnight.
The next day, wipe clean with a dry cloth to remove any greasy odors.
4. Immediate Cleaning Signals (Act Immediately Upon Appearance)
Fryer Basket Sticking: Residual grease on the coating is oxidized and requires immediate cleaning.
Blue smoke during heating: Oil accumulation and carbonization on the pipe walls; stop the machine immediately for cleaning.
Black residue from food: Grease and dirt have fallen off the fryer, requiring a thorough cleaning.
